A huge portion of the trailer rental market is dominated by U-Haul, that is no secret. In this article we want to promote the smaller home town rental companies, more specifically cargo trailer rental companies.
We are seeing more and more storage rental companies starting to rent cargo trailers as well as flatbed and utility trailers. Some have great package deals if you are signing up to rent one of their storage units.
How much does it cost to rent a cargo trailer?
As you know there are so many factors to consider when getting an idea of what the basic charge to rent a cargo trailer would be. The following is a list of some of those factors…
- The size of trailer 4×8?
- How long you are renting for? One day or a month?
- One way rental or return to original location
- Are you renting an enclosed trailer, utility, flatbed, dump bed?
Most trailer rental companies are charging about $20 to $75 a day depending on the factors listed above. Naturally that is the cheapest trailer rental, by the day. You can expect to pay much more the larger the trailer, the longer you are renting it for and if you are going to return it to the original location. Note: Most small town rental companies only rent local. Meaning that you will have to bring the trailer back to the original rental location. They have no way of getting their trailer back from where you are moving to, or what ever your specific situation is.
Moving Trailer Rental:
If you are renting a cargo trailer or any kind of trailer for that matter for the purpose of moving you will be okay if you are moving within the same town or the next town over. Sometimes people move more than say 100 miles away or more to a different town or even state but have to return for one reason or another. In that case you would be able to return your trailer to the original location. Problem solved. Even with larger rental companies like U-Haul the above scenario would be an inexpensive way to go.
